Hello Again,
It has been both a very long and
straining day at JFK airport. The flight that we traveled to JFK was crammed
and fun at the same time. I sat next to the very enthusiastic Gabe Herstig,
after asking an old lady if she could move her spot. We watched about 6
episodes of a good show called Eastbound & Down, it took up a lot of our
time. After landing and walking to our baggage claim, I noticed as I was
grabbing my bag from the carousel and noticed that there was a hug crack on the
cover and the bottom of the bag was broken and the bottom wheel had fallen off;
Just my luck. I had to then go to special services counter and a friendly lady
simply said “heres a new one”, I was both surprised and amused by how easy the
procedure was, and the bag she gave me was better then the one I had before! I
still had to repack though.
After the baggage fiasco the
Minnesota crew fled to the Terminal 4 with little clue where we were going, but
we found our way eventually. At the terminal the activities included both
meeting people and taking excessive walks to and from the drinking fountain and
bathroom. I met a lot of new people from places such as Maryland, California,
Seattle, and D.C, many new faces and new names to remember. As a group we took
up almost a whole row of the airport, and got asked to move multiple times. In
the group, we sat and made friends, but boredom was still very evident.
Then the moment of truth came…the
check-in. Part of the experience was also the questions asked by the airline
employee, and in the questions she asked what my cousins name, sorry Carmel, it
won’t happen again. They then weighed my bag and I was expecting the worse, but
surprisingly it was only 44.6 pounds(anxiety gone)!! Thank you Mom for packing
perfectly, you are truly a master when it comes to packing for trips.
One more story, once we went
through security, where everyone was in an “exceptional” mood, we then had free
time to just hang out and get some food before the long flight. The story
during this happened when I say Mosey dash to the bathroom with no alert or any
regard to who was in his way. Then I figured out that he was not feeling that
well for no apparent reason, and explained his sickness as being “a sudden rush
of sickness fell on my body”. I stayed in the bathroom until he was done
throwing up his burger and milk shake, and said after “I feel better now”. Then
acted like nothing happened, all is normal.
We are now getting on the long
flight, and seat arrangements are being made as we speak so gotta go before I
get a terrible seat near the back.
Adios,
Max Sandler-
I think all moms are professionals at packing. Atleast our Jewish moms are. That definitely sounds like a mosey thing at the airport.
