The day started out with me waking up at around 4:45 in the morning to the loud thunder from the storm that started around 2:00 a.m last night. Also I was soaked due to the window being opened and having my pillow soaked with rain. And because it hasn't rained in a while so people blessed us for bringing the Minnesota "bad" weather to Israel. Then we took showers, that was excruciatingly cold and I just figured out that the solution to this problem is to turn the nozzle towards the cold side, I guess everything is backwards in Israel. After we were done getting dressed we went to a room, and the rules ensued at a rapid pace. I don't really remember the four hours we were in the room, but the main message was if you do not follow the rules you will be kicked out IMMEDIATELY. Then we went to our core class that will be about the history of Israel, it is 4 hours long!! Our teachers name is Mordechai Cohen and he was born in Winnipeg, and used to work as a teacher in California. He is also a nice guy and I can tell the class is going to be fun, even though he gave us a good amount of homework and we have a quiz tomorrow.
After the classes, our madrichim(counselors) Tal and Adie gave us a tour of both the campus and Hod HaSharon. It is a fun city and a small campus, we then got a chance to walk around the town. After walking mindlessly around the town we found a place called Blue Falafel. A small shack on the street where they sold falafel for 17 shekels, and it was a very worth it. We then walked around and made friends with the Australian kids who are also staying on the campus. It was fun to talk about soccer with them and most of them knew a lot about the Timberwolves and Kevin Love. We "challenged" them to an Olympic Series, a game of soccer, basketball, and ultimate to see who the better country is. Im expecting us to be destroyed in all of the games except for ultimate, but you never know, miracles can happen. Now I'm back in the dorm and about to have a group meeting. Good Night.
